Workshops on Assets disclosure for the Ministries staff of Planning, Health, Finance and Transportation

CoI held a series of workshops in the Ministries of Planning, Health, Finance and Transportation regarding issues of senior officials` financial disclosure.

Officials from the prevention office in CoI expose the way of fulfilling the disclosure form and the punishment imposed on violators whether in its requirements or concerning the false information giving in the disclosure form.

They clarify that finance disclosure is a commitment to all senior officials starting from DG level to the position of the president and from Lieutenant Colonel to the Minister in the field of armed forces.

They indicate that the items in the disclosure form include required information about monthly income and assets for the covered person and his spouse as well as his dependent children.

CoI staff confirms that the basic purpose of subjecting senior official to the financial disclosure is to strengthen confidence between government and officials from one side and citizens from the other side. Disclosing assets by the officials will reflect their commitment before public funds and their immunity from mismanaging state properties which represent the people fortune; it will eliminate them also from illicit enrichment which may be resulted due of abusing their functions or positions.

They clarify that teams from the prevention office are conducting successive visits to Banks, Real estate and Traffic offices and Companies registry office to match their information with the information exist within the covered disclosure form indicating any discrepancies or unjustified augmentation through the period of being in position.
