COI Commissioner: Baghdad International meeting for fighting corruption demonstrates the real situation in Iraq establishing regional and international cooperation against corrupts

COI Commissioner Ala,a Jwad Hameed, assured that Baghdad International meeting for fighting corruption demonstrated the real situation in Iraq, eliminating the concerns of several international parties worried about the rumors which speared via some media.

The judge Hameed, emphasized during a visit tour to COI offices in nine provinces in southern Baghdad that the meeting which was held early last may , witnessed three important elements at the national, international and regional relations where the judge clarified, for the foreign guests, the institutional performance state in the anti-corruption strategy, he strengthen the rules of foreign cooperation relationships in pursuant to United Nations Convention against Corruption which Iraq joined it in 2007 , challenging all obstacles in the field of cooperation between Iraq and its regional surroundings.

He explained that the meeting called for regional and international cooperation through tracking and to extradite fugitive of corruption crimes and to extradite them to their countries, monitoring the smuggled assets , preventing money laundering or invested and returned to their countries ,since corruption becomes transitional crime which threatening the future of peoples and its development and prosperity plans.

COI Commissioner urged all the employees to rise to their responsibilities according to the basis of developments, considering the year 2013 as stage of institutional building and raising the capacity of the employee, determining those who can not be in line with required momentum especially the year 2012 was a trout launching for commission activities to achieve the highest performance, as well as completing highest number of cases assigned to the commission.
