Bribery indicator, concerning Government offices in February, showed a slightly decreasing January with less than 3% for the last four months.
Bribery payers’ rate for those who were covered by CoI questionnaire for January this year was (2.86%) and it dropped to (2.86%) in February.
The questionnaire detailed tables showed that CoI teams covered (23142) citizens in (370) offices in Baghdad and other provinces except Kurdistan region.
The analysts canceled (515) forms because they found out mistakes in its inputs beside (1106) forms because those citizens did not have any petition in these offices, so that the total number of forms to be analyzed are (21521).
(20670) citizens assured that they did not paid a bribe for their petitions while (616) stated that they paid a bribe and (235) did not specified their position which is (1.09%) from the covered citizens.
Those who paid a bribe gave many excuses for paying it. (161) said it was because of the slow process, (156) to facilitate their petitions, (121) said that the employee asked them to pay it, (13) admitted that their petitions were illegitimate, (21) gave other reasons and (235) prevented from giving the reason.
(18050) bribers and who did not pay a bribe said that they did not have any difficulties in processing their petitions against (3273) said they faced troubles while (199) did not give their opinion.
And if we look to those who did not accept to pay a bribe, we find that (93) have a P.h. degree, (280) have a Master degree, (2816) have a Bachelor degree, (1930) have a Diploma, (3152) have a High school degree, (4612) have an Intermediate school degree, (4729) have Primary school degree and (2593) does not read/write while (365) did not mention their degree.
Among the adults, (10) P.h. degree, (18) Master degree, (177) Bachelor degree, (78) Diploma, (105) High school, (99) Intermediate, (80) Primary and (30) does not read/write beside (19) did not mentioned their degree.
It was noticeable that male numbers are higher than the female with (497) male bribers and (15262) males did not pay a bribe while (110) females paid a bribe and (5257) females did not pay a bribe while (9) bribers and (151) does not pay a bribe did not state their genders.
