COI referred 435 accused to the specialist courts through January with cases concerning corruption.

Legal office in COI clarified in monthly report that the accused in 285 cases referred it from offices of COI in AlRusafa and AlKarkh in Baghdad and 15 governorates-except Kurdistan region- accusers involved in financial corruption with amount (45559409000) ID.

Specialist courts responsible of commission of integrity cases issued during the same month149 judgments against 15 accused was convicted with crimes of financial fraud, the courts obligated the convicted to return 8137136000 ID to government treasure before spending his sentence.

On the other hand the NGOs in COI carried out during January12 visiting in frame of implementing its tasks to strengthen good behavior in public offices and private sector. The visiting included: NGOs in general council of ministries, directorate of education in AlKarkh, Dewanes, organizations of Iraqi student and social solidarity, Iraqi woman association, humanitarian alshheed association, alhdara channel satellite and ministry of culture.

The office carried out during the same month questionnaires dealing with national campaign against bribery in 110 offices in different governorates it included 6522 citizens.
