CoI and UN discuss deepening ways of International cooperation to fight corruption

 The judge Alaa Jwad Hmeed, head of CoI, has met the delegation of UNDP. They discussed sides of cooperation between Iraq and the organization in the fields of combating and facing corruption.

During the meeting held at the Iraqi academy headquarter for fighting corruption and with the presence of the judge Ezet Twfeeq Jaafar, the deputy  head of CoI and DGs, Hameed showed the CoI continuous steps to execute UN agreement requirements for fighting corruption which Iraq joined in 2007, and draft laws that have been prepared to achieve twinning between national legislations and  the legal basis of international convention.

CoI and UN stressed the danger of negative consequences of corruption practices on people’s life, international economic safety movement and courses of development  in the developing countries. Both sides confirmed that confronting these comprehensive risks could not be realized, only by gathering efforts, plans of all countries and expanding channels of  cooperation and understanding to fight such huge danger. Both sides expressed their optimism in the international conference, CoI prepared to hold in Baghdad on the end of March, to be a serous step in the way.
