In a ceremony held by CoI in Baghdad, CoI commissioner distributed rewards, from vice president Dr. Adil Abdul Mahdi, on some distinguished CoI employees. The commissioner praised in his speech the support of his holiness Dr. Adil Abdul Mahdi to CoI and fighting corruption efforts. The commissioner mentioned that Dr. Adil ensured before, in a meeting between them, that CoI should be professional, neutral and independent adopting following corrupters and to abstain from defaming suspects or following them without evidence and to be corrective institution supporting the rebuilding and constructing efforts, without being an obstacle to these efforts. CoI received (2612) notifications in 2008 as follows:

24 notifications were filed
The result of all punitive cases was (2816) classified as following:
1714 under investigation
543 cases closed
257 transferred to other investigation agencies
214 cases transferred to other investigation court
88 cases transferred to trial court

CoI activated the use of wiretapping and was able to arrest some officials with bribery and about to start investigation in it
