CoI official launched a warning against the risky negative results which threatening the development plan in many provinces, as a result of the corruption cases which start to become clear in the contracts between some local administrations and foreign companies.
The head of local communication department/relations with NGO’s Office in CoI urged the local administrations and all the officials to increase the oversight procedures on agreement articles and observing the procedures for carrying out the agreement to prevent any illegal acts that may create corruption and then miscarriage the development plans.
The head of communication department and through the two workshops, organized in AL-Diwaneya by the Office, presented the provisions of CoI Law no. (30) 2011 and CoI offices responsibilities in both sides, educating the society about integrity behavior, the risk of corruption and tracking the corruptors.
The workshop participants agreed on that fighting corruption cannot be achieved by one side, but it is the responsibility of all the society.
The workshop participants requested more cooperation and coordination between CoI and the oversight bodies in that province and they stressed on the effective role for media in exposing contracts corruption cases through their reports.
The final recommendations stressed on the role of religion in educating the people against corruption and urging them to report about and exposing corruptors.
