Head of the Integrity Committee in the Parliament: a noticeable progress in CoI performance
Under the patronage of CoI Commissioner, the National Integrity Week started today with the presence of the head and members of the Integrity Committee in the Parliament, Inspectors General and an extensive audience of media and CoI employees.
CoI Commissioner Judge Ala`a Jwad Hameed and the head of Integrity Committee in the Parliament opened Al Khuld Hall which hosted the opening ceremonies for the first time after been closed since 2003.
Judge Hameed indicated in his welcoming speech that, the Integrity Week is not only a celebration but, a reminder of integrity concepts and values to establish a wide spread interest in its application as higher values achieving the goals of protecting the public money and improving public servants performance. He emphasized on how CoI employees should be obligated towards their work according to CoI Law, stressing that there is no immunity for outlaws. Reminding that, enforcing the proper law will lead to perfect results as described in CoI law in a form that will spread the culture of integrity to avoid corruption and unveil its shelters.
In his turn, Member of Parliament (Bahaa Al Aaraji), confirmed his appreciation to CoI as he described it as "the institution that showed a marked progress in its performance" mentioning the collaboration of terrorism and corruption and considering that terrorism may pass away when corruption by all its means annihilated through reforming a government of parliamentary majority with its conditions and its achievements.
