The 3rd International meeting for working government anti corruption team be held in
Participants in this meeting will discuss the nature of relations and increasing cooperation among their anti corruption agencies, in addition to the exchange of information between the states parties to the 2003 United Nation Convention Against Corruption as approved and signed by Iraq in 2007.
The General Secretary of the states parties meeting, expressed its contentment to the level of exchanging of information among the UNCAC states parties and urged for more cooperation and clear understanding between the public and special sectors that assures transparency in the process of addressing the corruption facets.
Among the topics to be thrashed out in the meeting, the participants will discuss the steps which had been taken by the states parties in implementing the principles of last Marrakech announcement and the preparations to be taken for the next year meeting.
As one of the corruption characteristics, the conflict of interest in public service will be intensely discussed besides matter of high level official’s declaration about their financial status.
The CoI delegate will also participate in the 6th session of the opening government workshop on Thursday about the Stolen Assets Recovery. Worthy mentioning the CoI bylaw no. 30 for 2011 established a new general directorate working on extraditing of corrupts and recovering the Iraqi assets which are being illegally transferred out of the country.
Extraditing wanted corrupts and recovering stolen assets are of the high International society concerns as they are connected to the abusing of powers committed by some high level officials whom prefer their own interest on their countries interests, they now have banking account abroad and some transferred to estates and investments have doubtful titles and names.
