Through a half year … CoI :The Judiciary issued (754) judgments in corruption cases

  Through the first half of the current year The specialist courts issued (754) judgments in cases dealing with corruption and fraud in public money. Cases were referred to the courts by CoI offices in Baghdad and governorates.

 The half annual report issued by the legal department in the Commission mentioned that judgments with different periods were issued against (816) convicted in those cases.

 The judgments included not to release the convicted after they finished their sentence unless they pay back the money they embezzled to the state treasury.

The legal department in CoI mentioned that the investigation offices in Baghdad and provinces have referred ,through the first half of the current year, (2394) cases dealing with corruption and fraud of public money to The competent courts.

Legal department ,in its half year performance report, clarified that investigation offices in Baghdad and provinces ,except Kurdistan, have referred (401) cases in the last month, while it referred more than (500)cases in April and May for each . The cases referred in the first three month were about (300) and (380).
