Under the slogan of "with integrity and transparency we get progress" Commission of integrity started its media campaign in Iraq governorates to determine the mechanisms of CoI and its role in fighting corruption. The first workshop began in Saladin governorate on the role of media and social culture in spreading the culture of integrity. This workshop was hold by CoI in cooperation with society of journalist`s rights defend and before members of provincial council of Saladin, researchers and journalists in the governorate. The workshop was started by the speech of the deputy head of provincial council Mr. Sabhan Al-mulla Jiad in which he stressed on the importance of activating the cooperation between CoI and the provincial councils due to the great role in preventing and fighting corruption. He suggested that a position of inspector general must be created in all provinces, such position will be responsible of detecting corruption. It is so important to hold seminars and training courses in order to spread the concept of transparency and culture of integrity among the society`` saidMr. Nyazy Meamar Oglo (Head of integrity committee and head of administrative and financial committee in Saladin governorate.)

CoI spokesperson Mr. Hasan Kareem Aaty talked about CoI mandate and establishment within the law no. 30 /2011 which divides the scope of CoI work and authorization, where it works equally in investigative and educational sides. The spokesperson stressed on the importance of activating the electronic government role in the work of public offices to facilitate the harmony of work and reducing the routine, such electronic government will have a positive role on services presented to people. He added that selecting Saladin governorate to be the point of starting the media campaign carried out by CoI is because of Saladin importance.

Mr. Husein Salim, DG assistant of relations with NGOs talked about the importance of holding the workshops to keep effective and communicate with public offices and SCOs, he stressed on the necessity of drafting recommendation to improve the scope of work and following up its implementation by field visits in all provinces.
