CoI: AL-Najaf criminal court sentenced the engineer (H.A.), a former head of AL-Manathra water project, for four years imprisonment for abusing administrative instructions and public money regarding his illegal enrichment.
AL-Najaf office / CoI received an information that the convict, who was at that time the head of AL-Manathra water project, used to receive pipes (specially made for the work) and did not enlist it in the warehouses but he used to mobile it in special trucks to AL-Najaf city and sells it to one of the dealers.
A team from the office, according to a judicial order and cooperating with the security forces, starts to monitor the suspect and he was captured in the act while he was selling a (30) pipes to the dealer in Hay AL-Jamea’a in AL-Najaf city.
According to the witness’ statements and the investigation documents, there are a (78) pipes shortage in the warehouses (in different sizes). These pipes were taken by the suspect and it was sold to gain self benefit.
On the other side, the court decided to release the dealer who in his turn plead not guilty because he was not aware that these pipes were stolen or the source of it.
