CoI participates in International workshop on Transparency in private sector

Iraqi commission of Integrity participates in the workshop of United Nations regional project for anti-corruption and promoting integrity in the Arab countries on Wednesday-Friday in Tunisia.

Deputy Commissioner Judge Ezzat Tawfeeq Jaafar Participates in the workshop in addition to ministers, judges, academics, representative of SCOs and official and private institutions in the Arab countries, experts from regional and international organizations interesting in fighting corruption and achieving integrity and transparency.

The researches, studies and discussions of the workshop are based on the requirements of promoting the principle of transparency in actions and activities of the private sector in Arab region and the role of the other national parties in strengthening this principle.    

The workshop tackles the means and requirements of how to fight the illicit gain and the legal view toward such phenomenon perspective of the transitional justice in addition to reviewing the plans and standards which adopted by 44 countries including 4 Arab countries and get successful steps in confronting the illicit gain tries. 

It`s expected the participants at the workshop will finished by decisions and recommendations to strengthen the cooperation among the Arabic states in fields of spreading the culture of integrity concept, establishing the justice values, the rights respect and widen the scope of the joint work against all the activities that encourage the corruption or facilitate the conditions to obtain the unjust enrichment                            

On the margin of meetings the deputy commissioner has hold discussions and meetings with the similar Arabic commissions representatives to exchange the experiences, the information and the mutual benefit from the national experiences for the enrichment of another Arabic activities and attempt to widen the participation scope of the regional U.N projects in programs and projects of the Iraqi commission of integrity.

Meanwhile, yesterday the commission of integrity has announced that seized tow persons in forgery status who cooperate with employees in one of the ministries to get the visas for foreigners and Arab under the pretext that they are experts contracting with investment companies   in Iraq.

The initial investigations have stated that the arrested persons have trafficked (1967) unknown persons inside Iraq and the involved companies have been denied any relation with them.

The competent authorities are making investigations on the destinations those infiltrators went to. The legist did not role out prosecuting those who are responsible this operations under anti terrorism law when those infiltrators curried out terrorism crimes or connected with terrorist groups.
