5 years in prison for the Director General of the State Company for trading food stuff and 7 years for his deputy

Al Muthanna criminal court sentenced, in the expired tea case that CoI / Al Muthanna Investigation Office investigated, the D.G. of the State Company for trading food stuff with 5 years in prison under article 340 of the Iraqi penal code. The same court sentenced the D.G. deputy for the aforementioned company with 7 years in prison under article 318 of the Iraqi penal code.
Worth mentioning that, both accused persons were in duty when they were arrested and referred to the subject court which pronounced the decision on Wednesday the 24th of Aug. 2011.
The court charged the accused persons with corruption and embezzlement under articles 340,318 of the applicable Iraqi penal code.
Worth mentioning that, the accused facilitated the admission of more than 900 tons of expired tea and distribute it to the peoplewithin the ration card.
