Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has submitted, on January 2, 2011, his financial disclosure form for 2011 to the CoI, which make it the third time for the newly-elected premier, as he for the first time submitted it in 2009 and 2010.
On the same day, Mr. Hassen al-Shemeri, Iraqi minister of justice, met with the Commissioner of Integrity at the COI headquarters, and disclosed his 2011 financial stand. To this end, Mr.
Tareq Najem, manager of PM`s office, reported his financial information.
The above-mentioned Iraqi officials are the first to submit the financial forms for 2011. It is worth noting, that the Speaker of Parliament Mr. al-Nujefi handed his first disclosure form to the CoI`s president, while attending a parliamentary discussion session on December 27, 2011.
The number of current parliamentary members who disclosed their financial statements is 111, out of 325 parliamentarians, with a compliance rate of 34.2 percent. Meanwhile, the compliance rate for the former members of Iraq`s Council of Ministers hit 100 percent. Also, all provinces chiefs submitted their financial forms for 2010, no including Al-Najef governor.
In addition to this, all provincial council chiefs disclosed their 2010 financial stand, except for AlBasra and Kerbala provincial council heads.
