The Commission clarified the details of the sentences issued against number of officials in Babel province, indicating that Babel criminal court and Hilla misdemeanor issued two conviction sentences against the Director General of health directorate in the province and the former mayor of Hilla.
COI’s Investigation Office, talking case details it had previously investigated and referred to the court, indicated that Babel criminal court issued in presence sentence for three-year of imprisonment against Hilla former mayor and head of procurement committee in the municipality in the case of supplying dumpsters with capacity of 1100 letters by one of the companies.
The Office explained that the presence sentence against the convicted persons was implemented in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code and were imprisoned.
The Office added that the Hilla misdemeanors court convicted the director general of the province`s health directorate and two defendants who are members in the committee of inventory and valuating real estate of the health directorate, mentioning that the sentence was issued in accordance with provisions of article 331 of P.C.
