Iraq signs Agreement for establishing IACA

The President of the Iraqi Commission of Integrity judge Raheem Al Igeeli, as he was officially delegated by the Iraqi Council of Ministers to represent the Iraqi Government, signed the Agreement for establishing the International Anti Corruption Academy (IACA) . The signature ceremony was celebrated at the UN headquarters in Vienna on 4 Dec 2010 and witnessed by the Iraqi Charge de affaires in the Iraqi Embassy in Vienna and Mr. Martin Kreutner the Chair of IACA Steering Committee.

By signing this Agreement Iraq has become the state no. 36 had signed the agreement and joined the states establishing members to this newly born International Academy launched in an international conference held on 2 Sept. 2010 in Vienna under the auspices of the UN Secretary General.

 IACA is an International Anti Corruption Academy established by the UnitedNations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the International Police (INTRPOL) and the Republic of Austria with other international organizations as defined by the United Nations Convention Against Corruption to serve as a center of excellence that professionalize anti-corruption training, education, researches and studies in fields of combating corruption as well as providing the technical legal assistance to the states members and encouraging the international cooperation and networking to prevent and combat corruption.
