COI reveals of its procedures regarding exploitation money of Kirkuk freed areas

COI disclosed its procedures regarding exploiting the funds allocated for reconstructions and stability of the liberated areas and districts freed of terrorism, in contrary to the instructions of Kirkuk province.

COI’s Investigation Office, while it talking about the case, mentioned that a huge sum was allocated to reconstruct and stability the liberated cities cashed for hospitality, indicating that this formed a violation to the instructions of implementing the federal budget for the year 2018.

The office confirmed that the preliminary investigations and statements of witnesses revealed that the amounts were cashed against the Ministry of Finance’s instructions, declaring that the governor of Kirkuk, who was financially bailed, is the main defendant in the case. The office indicated that the Kirkuk Investigation Judge issued an arrest warrant against six suspects, the secretary of the governor and the director of his office, in addition to the directors of the audit, accounts and contracts departments in the governorate and the heads of the first and second procurement committees, according to the article340PC.

The judge decides to detain the suspects and move to the Accounts Section at Kirkuk Governorate’s Building to subpoena the documents of paying the amounts of hospitality, as well as addressing the Human Resources Section in the Province and the Directorate of Electricity Distribution for showing up the legal status of three relatives of the Governor, whether or not they are permanent employees, the office added.
