CoI’s Prevention Office revealed that Baghdad Court of Cassation has verified a sentence issued against the former parliament member, indicating that the convicted person violated the regulations of financial disclosure report.

The Office mentioned, during the course of discussing the sentence, that the former P.M (Zainab Abed Ali Graid Alsahlani) has previously attended the Office, where she submitted a pledge confirming the authenticity of her information listed in the financial disclosure report, clarifying that after auditing the movable and immovable assets of the accused P.M and matching the results with her statement, we found that there are undeclared properties in her trust according to the two letters of State Real-State Directorate and Real-Estate Registration Office in Al-Shatra.

It clarified that Baghdad Court of Appeal – Al-karkh Federal in its cassation capacity has verified upon the conviction sentence due to the convicted violated the regulations of financial disclosure no. (2) of 2017 and for being accused of concealing information concerning the properties in her trust and for not mentioning them in the financial disclosure report.

It added that Al-karkh Misdemeanor court on integrity cases, that the obtained evidences in this case (statement of CoI’s legal representative, the two letters of Al-Shatra Real-Estate Registration Office which proved that the accused did already purchase the properties, in addition to the real-estate register record and the financial disclosure report in which the properties are listed in, as well as her confession that these properties are belongs to her but they are not listed in the financial disclosure report) were sufficient to criminalize and convict her.

The court mentioned lately at last August that it sentenced the convicted according to the provisions of article 245 of P.C, granting the affected party the right to demand compensation before civil courts according to provisions of article 19 of P.C.
