Staff at Baghdad Directorate of Investigations in coordination with teamwork in Thi Qar investigation office were able to carry out seizure operation for two accused of fraud and bribery and caught with red-handed, COI Office of Investigations announced.
Speaking about details of operation, the Office noted, that COI’s team moved to Thi Qar province and managed to arrest the accused persons; due to launching false promises over their ability to obtain legal approvals; to obtain plots for investment under pretext of establishing a hospital and private schools in exchange for money at ( 800.000.000) dinars, indicating that it communicated with them, followed –up and arrested them in one region of the province pursuant to resolution 160 of 1983.
The operation of arrest was carried out under a judicial warrant of arrest, while the defendants confessed the charges attributed to them before the competent investigating judge, who decided to detain them until sending them to the requesting party in Baghdad, Office indicated.
COI announced on the ninth of this month for an operation of arrest for two accused of fraud and bribery in Baghdad.
