Court Sentences against people forged real estate documents for receiving loans of billion dinars

Commission of Integrity revealed that the competent court issued two sentences against two people forged documents of real estate lands in Baghdad and provided them to government banks as guarantees for getting loans of amounts reached to twenty-four billions dinar.
The CoI investigations Office said it interrogated the two convicted people and brought them before justice. The investigations proved that they provided banks with forged and falsified documents of lands in which they changed area measurements and the gender of the lands, also they replaced the landlord name from state ownership to their own names in the real estate books to be submitted to the government banks as guarantees for getting loans that was in collaborating with the assistant manager and other employees in the real estate office in Al Madean district.
The criminal court on Integrity cases in Baghdad clarified that after reading the Ministry of Justice and Rasheed bank legal representative`s statements whom litigated the accused people, and according to the investigative report of the CoI and the administrative investigation of the inspector general in the Ministry of Justice, in addition to the statement of the convicted the assistant manager in Al Madean real estate office and of the two accused people whom confessed that they did forged the documents, the court had a sufficient satisfaction to criminalized the involved people.

The court added that it issued two default sentences of seven years imprisonment against one of the convicted in accordance with the provisions of the article (289) of the panel code in reference to the article 47, 48, 49 and 49 thereof. The decision is final. The court also decided to sentence the other convicted person with six years imprisonment in accordance with the provisions of the article 444 of the penal code. The damaged party has the right to allege returns before the civil court.
It is worthy mentioning that CoI had already announced on 2/11/2017 that the court had issued a sentence against the Al Madaen real estae office ex-assistant manager whom was arrested when she was trying to run away in Baghdad airport for forging a real estate documents to help the convicted people to get loans of amounts reached to (153) billions from government banks.
