CoI Investigations Office revealed that it managed to arrest five people involving in exploiting government lands for their own benefits.
The accused people were arrested by court warrants in two operations, the investigations office added. Two of the accused were arrested in Kirkuk where they were marking a land of more than three Donums belongs to Kirkuk province to build houses there. The investigations showed that a numbers of employees from province municipality were putting their blind eyes on to assist the accused exploiting land of an estimated value of three billion Iraqi dinars.
On the other hand, the investigations office teams in Muthana province had arrested another three people were illegally digging out limes and sub bases materials from land in one of the province districts. One of the accused carved out out sub bases materials in area acceded 50 thousand m2, the other two accused dug out limes from an area of 5 thousand m2. Vehicles and tools for the excavating also were confiscated.
The investigations office said that two arresting files were legally prepared to bring the accused along with evidences before the justice to take the necessary legal measures against them.
