CoI Basra Investigation Directorate said that it seized documents of two contracts concluded between Basra Oil Company and two international companies to purchase lifter-arms with overpriced values, it said.
Basra investigation directorate added that the operation of holding the documents of those two contracts was in accordance with a court order. The price of one lifter-arm in the contracts that Basra Oil Company had signed with the two supplying companies is $ 42 million of three lifter-arms to be supplied by the two companies with a price of $ 126 million. This information was discovered by investigative directorate, which said that the real price of one lifter is only $13 million as the values experts said.
Basra Investigation Directorate had prepared a legal minute of arresting along with evidences it gathered to be presented before the investigative judge on Integrity in Basra to take the legal necessary measures.
CoI had already announced in September last year that it put it hands on documents showed that Basra Oil Company had purchased two seashores unqualified vessels with $30 million.
