Over 6000 including 250 directors general and higher wanted by CoI

6031 accused were wanted for Commission of Integrity for the last nine months in this year, including (250) directors general and higher rank. Whereas 3329 apprehension orders and 2702 arraignment orders were issued by CoI.

The number that referred by CoI ( after completion of investigative procedures ) to the courts for trial in corruption cases reached 210 accused including 133 officials with directors general level and higher rank and 111 election candidates who were accused of educational certificate forgery.

Value of corruption in the above lawsuits reached (446.891.000.000) Iraqi dinars including 3.73 % on bribery crimes, 20.01 % on embezzlement crimes, 25.83% on public properties damages crimes and 83.68 % on forgery.

481 were convicted in the period mentioned above including 50 DGs and higher, 55 election candidates who submitted forgery educational certificates. 2% on bribery crimes, 19.13 % on embezzlement crimes, 21.83 % on public property damages and 40.75 % on forgery.

Life imprisonment was the judgment for two convicted while 181 were convicted with more than  five years , 43 were sentenced with period between (3-5) years , 155 were sentenced with period from  6 months to 3 years.

1146 were detained under investigation with different corruption accusations during the last nine months including 9 officials with DGs level and higher rank.

81 apprehension orders were executed in red-handed in the mentioned period including 58 cases in Baghdad and 23 cases in other governorates.

340 election candidates` municipalities were prosecuted by CoI for educational certificates forgery in 2009,including 279 arrest warrants were issued against them, 111 were referred to the courts with forgery accusations, 55 were sentenced with different periods and 23 were set free. CoI still following up the documents and educational certificates forgers in municipalities elections and the  parliament  in 2010 who were more than 80 forgers.
