Commission of Integrity revealed the details of foiling attempts to smuggle internet bits in Nineveh, indicating the seizure of towers through which the internet smuggled.
CoI’s investigation directorate indicated that a team from Nineveh investigation directorate, in coordination with the Commission of Information and Communications in the northern region, Nineveh communications directorate and the National Security Service, after moving to Mosul Dam and Baheshika district, ex ecuted two operations to foil smuggling internet bits.
The two operations resulted in the seizure of equipment, receivers and broadcasting devices with cutting of smuggling lines, as well as seizing towers, transmitters, equipment and tools used in the smuggling, which was causing waste of large amounts of public money. The Office indicated that the smuggling cost the state large sums of money, as well as the poor service provided to citizens and evade government monitoring of contraband bit.
A formal seizure minutes of the seized criminal evidence during the two operations was organized and presented to the competent investigating judge to take appropriate legal action.
It is worth mentioning that Commission of Integrity announced on the fifth of last month that it was able to control Internet smuggling operations in Kirkuk with about one million dollars a month.
