CoI’s staff of the Karbala Investigation Office managed to seize manipulation and falsification of the title deed transfer of 153-dunum property belonging to the Directorate of Municipalities in the governorate.
CoI’s Investigation Office indicated that the Karbala investigation team conducted an investigation, detection and audit covered the Office of State Property, First Directorate of Land Registration, Directorates of Agriculture and Municipalities in Karbala and General Authority for Agricultural Land to audit the said property’s file and documents as well as the basis depended on in sorting and registration.
The investigations of the team led to the discovery of the absence of documents indicating the registration of the property in the name of a number of persons, and granting them the right to dispose of it, as well as the absence of sorting scheme, pointing to the existence of distortion on the land registry page, and the lack of consent of the Directorate of the Municipality of Karbala on the sorting, in addition to the absence of any documents at the Office of State Property and the Directorate of Agriculture in the province that show the basis of registration of the property in the name of those persons.
The Office pointed out that the Directorate of Municipality of Karbala - as a result of the data of the seizure operation undertaken under a judicial memorandum - had filed a lawsuit to annul the registration of the property located in a distinct place in the province, and its estimated value is (7.650.000.000) dinars for the purpose of re-registering it in its name.
A minutes of seizing all criminal exhibits was organized and submitted to the competent investigative judge who issued an arrest warrant against the accused persons in accordance with the provisions of Article 289 of the Penal Code in the sense of Article 298 thereof.
Noteworthy to mention that CoI had announced on 16th of the last month the return of a real estate in the center of Karbala, an area of about (7) acres, and its value was more than (3.150.000.000) dinars, to the Ministry of Finance.
