Cessation of one of electricity projects with more than half billion dollars
Projects included hospitals, housing complex es, bridges, water purification stations, sewers and schools
Commission of Integrity announced the lagging projects in Dhi-Qar and Muthanna governorates which were monitored by one of its teams that visited the governorates, indicating that 208 projects were followed up within its continues efforts to investigate and detect services, reconstructions and investments lagging projects in all governorates.
524 million dollars
The Commission revealed in its report that 132 lagging projects were in Muthanna of which 3 criminal cases have been opened, included the project of building hospital with 400 beds, rehabilitation of Al-Sharqi sub-power station, establishment of Al-Khairat farm. CoI clarified that the projects of which no criminal cases were opened, were the project of Ministry of Electricity with one of the foreign companies to add a combined cycle system (1X4 9E) at cost of (524) million dollars and the establishment of 750 MW electric gas generating station in Samawah, as well as equipment supplying, testing and laying of network lines with nutrients, and the rehabilitation and supplying of a number of switching stations.
Health and water
The report confirmed the existence of lagging in health projects, including the establishment of a hospital and a burn center in Samawah and a primary health care sector in Al-Khudor, pointing to the cessation of water projects of Samawah Al-Kabeer and the rehabilitation of Warka water project, supplying and installation of water units combined with pipes and tankers and the establishment of underground tanks with water purification stations as well as two projects of Al-Rumaitha central sewers treatment station, supplying and installation of the sewage unit in a number of cities in the province.
Bridges and roads
The report pointed out that the lagging projects in the Directorate of Municipalities, Roads, Bridges and Local Administration included the construction of a number of bridges and the rehabilitation and maintenance of a number of roads, including the linked road between Al-Khuder and Samawah cities with the length of 18 km and the railway road to the concrete bridge in Khuder as well as housing complex of 600 apartments in Al-Rumaitha, low-cost apartments, the construction of 70 housing units for poor peoples, two meeting halls, a public library in Samawah, and the establishment of six buildings for municipality offices.
The report referred to the education projects such as building and rehabilitating schools, training and testing center to obtain the international computer license certificate in computer, construction of a number of buildings; including typical buildings for General Directorate of Education. It explained that the projects included rehabilitation of the Badiri project for irrigation, paving rivers and establishing four creeks boxes, six bridges for cars and pedestrians; as well as stadiums, Olympic swimming pool, sports halls, youth forums, and buildings of Management and Economics Collage at Al-Muthanna University, the Investment Commission and Department of Retirement and Social Security.
Dhi-Qar
The report mentioned lagging projects in the province of Dhi-Qar, which reached to 76 projects of which criminal cases were opened in 34 of them, indicating that these projects were distributed between lagging and cessation ministerial projects, which are projects implemented under the investment balance for ministries, the number of these projects were 49 of which criminal cases were opened in 19 of them , projects powers transfer amounted to 12 of which criminal cases were opened in 6 of them, 6 investment projects of which criminal cases were opened in 5 of them while 4 criminal cases were opened in 9 lagging projects within the development of regions.
The report confirmed that that project distributed between housing complex es in Suq Al-Sheok, Al-Shatra and Al-Qala’a districts within project of Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction, establishment of bridges as Al-Ale bridge in Al-Naser district and industrial housing bridge in Al-Nassria as well as projects of water and sewers as project of water pipes in Suq Al-Sheok, water supporting station in Nassira, rehabilitation projects of sewers and water pipes in the governorate, building of number of schools and kindergartens and establishment and rehabilitation of numbers of roads and sidewalks in different areas in the governorate.
It is worth mentioning that the Commission of Integrity had announced the overall lagging projects in a number of governorates that have been monitored by its investigative teams, COI DGs were assigned to administrate and supervise the completion of these projects and submitting summaries of the results of the investigation.
