Office of Prevention diagnoses lack of medicines, vaccines in infancy, maternity Care Centers

The Office of Prevention diagnosed non-supply of most of the health centers- infancy and maternity units with modern Sonar devices for early diagnosis of birth-defects or any other cases.

The above office recommended Ministry of Health to support the health centers generally and infancy and maternity units especially with specialized medical staffs from (gynecologists, obstetricians and pregnant care), in addition to their needs of medical devices, medicines and vaccines for pregnant and baby in periodic and organized way.

The office confirmed in its report on the visit by the office’s team work to health centers that belong to initial health care sectors of Baghdad health office in Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa and visit the infancy and maternity units and their affiliate centers for verifying the fact of information in report of one of the satellite channels, which monitored by CoI’s media center on the weakness of provided services by some infancy and maternity centers, stressing a lack of some medicines for pregnant last for several months and non-availability the polio vaccine and hepatitis vaccine.

The above report stressed non-release of vaccines only after completing the laboratory test and appearing of results, where receiving the vaccines by centers is done, before verifying of their safety in laboratory test, in addition to providing the required quantities that cover the vaccination campaigns in Kindergartens and primary schools, and take into account the volume of dose that is given to pregnant to avoid side effects on the health of mother and fetus, according to some of doctors working in health centers.
