Within COI efforts in investigating construction, services and investments lagging projects in all governorates, the Commission announced the lagging projects in Wassit governorate which were monitored by one of its teams that visited the governorate ; indicating that the number of lagging projects reached to (203), with total amount (2.126.619.950.294) billion dinars
One billion dinars of housing complex es in Wassit
The report pointed out that the total amount allocated to the lagging projects of housing complex es in the province exceeded (1.070) trillion dinars, project of the Azizia housing complex is consider of the most prominent, where its cost exceeded (691) billion dinars and two projects to construct low coast housing for poor people within the strategy of poverty reduction at a cost of (100) billion dinars, as well as two housing complex es in Zurbatia and Al-Hai with total amount (165) billion dinars, and other housing complex es.
Health and education sectors
Regarding health sector, the report pointed out that the total amount of lagging projects amounted to 240 billion dinars, most notably the establishment of a hospital with a capacity of 400 beds in the city of Kut at a cost of (171.680) billion dinars and the project of the specialized center for the treatment of blood diseases and tumors with total amount (26.792) billion dinars as well as cancer center amounted to (23.710) billion dinars. The cost of education projects is more than (80) billion dinars to build more than 150 schools, kindergartens, training and testing centers and computer labs.
Water and sewage
Amounts allocated for water and sewage lagging projects exceeded 330 billion dinars, most notably the project of extending a water pipes, implementing communications works and developing the electrical network with the implementation of sewages in Said Bin Jubair Street with the development of the street extending from the entrance of Al-Hai district to the shrine of Said Bin Jubair of which its coast exceeded (70) billion dinars, in addition to the project of Kut water with (39) billion dinars, as well as a number of projects to rehabilitate and implement a number of water and sewage networks in the province.
Roads and bridges
The report pointed out that the cost of lagging projects for the development and rehabilitation of roads and the establishment of new roads, bridges and the entrance of Kut amounted to (280) billion dinars, indicating that these projects included development, paving streets and rehabilitation of the gardens of Hai Al-Hawra district, the street parallel to Dujaili river, which it coast exceeded (80) billion dinars and the construction of Husseiniya concrete bridge with more than 20 billion dinars.
Its worth noted that COI had announced the total lagging projects in the governorates of Saladin, Kirkuk, Basra and Nineveh, monitored by the investigative teams responsible for classifying the criminal cases according to their importance, and completing investigation of the reconstruction, services and investment of the lagging projects.
COI DGs were assigned to administrate and supervise the completion of these projects and submitting summaries of the results of the investigation.
