One-third of cameras dedicated to complete citizen’s petitions stopped working ... Prevention Office investigates delay reasons of issuance annual cards in traffic offices

COI Office of Prevention observed that one-third of the cameras dedicated to carrying out petitions of citizens at Al-Taji traffic site have stopped working, demanding that the requirements of the national anti- bribery campaign should be applied to all traffic sites.

The Office demanded to get the contract audited, to find out the reasons of delay upon issuing the cards, as well as to allocate a special place to complete petitions of people with special needs, elderly and visitors who live in another provinces.

In its report on the visit of the Office’s teamwork to Kadhimiya and Taji, and to meet with their officials, as well as a number of visitors, to confirm the veracity of information contained in the report of a satellite channel over expediters concluded petitions in return for money, the Office said.

The Office stressed the need to activate MOI IG Office’s role; to observe violations, prevent the spread of expediters in traffic offices and to take the necessary measures.

The report pointed out that the administration of two sites have acknowledged existence of expediters who walk around the sites publicly and carry out petitions. There are many caravans and kiosks near the named sites, which sell forms of registration and carry out petitions, stressing the need to apply all the requirements of the national campaign against bribery.

The report observed suspension 7 out of 22 cameras of which the visitors were photographed at Al-Taji site; this resulted in a great congestion and led to delays in completion of petitions, pointing out that there was no convincing reason for stop working. The site works under the national project by using an electronic system.
