The investigation office announced that criminal court on integrity cases in Baghdad issued a judgment in absentia sentencing to 7 years against one of the employees in Ministry of Trade for committing intentionally damage in public money; this is contrary to the duties of his job.
The above office pointed out that the fugitive convict was sent a letter from (State Company Foodstuff Trading) under his signature to TBI includes paying ($ 552,150) to the account of former managing director who was worked in one of contracting companies unlawfully, clarifying that the amount belongs to another company, resulting repeat paying the amount to the two companies causing damage in public money.
The court reached to sufficient conviction to criminalize the accused according to provisions of article (340) pc, after reviewing the statements of legal representatives of (State Company Foodstuff Trading), TBI, investigative committee minutes as well as the presumption of escape, which was sufficient and convincing to convict him.
The verdict included issuing arrest warrant, conducting duly inspection against the accused, confirming attachment on his movable and immovable property, in addition to that, the plaintiff (State Company Foodstuff Trading) reserves right to demand a reimbursement before civil courts until the decision become final.
It is worth mentioning, that CoI announced on 12\11\2017 on issuing in absentia sentencing to 7 years against the former managing director of contracting company who took over the mentioned money.
