After Jordan.. COI reveals the recovery of funds in Lebanon belongs to the defunct regime

COI announced the recovery of funds belonging to the defunct regime deposited in Lebanese banks.

Extradition office in COI confirmed that a team support specialized in recovering funds of Iraq abroad funds managed to recover of half a million US dollars that was deposited in the account of the director of a Military Industry Facility of the defunct regime and his wife in a Lebanese bank, indicating that a team support cooperated with the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs of the documents and legal evidence Which led to the transfer of their accounts to the Iraq account of the Development Fund for Iraq.

Extradition office mentioned that the Director of the Company is covered by Security Council resolutions 1483 and 1518 of 2003. The first resolution obligates Member States that have funds, financial assets or economic resources smuggled from Iraq by freezing them and transferring them to the Development Fund for Iraq.

COI announced in early October that a team managed to recover Iraq`s funds belonging to a Military Industry Facility of the defunct regime that was deposited in a bank in the Kingdom of Jordan.
