The investigation office in CoI announced that the criminal court of integrity cases in Baghdad in absentia sentence against three employees in Ministry of Health to cause intentional damage amounted nearly (IQDs 13, 000.000.000) in the entity that they were working.

While speaking about the details of case, the above office indicated that the two fugitive convicts who were working in the health office in Salahaddin province for abusing their public service to take over the amounts worth (IQDs 12, 825, 352, 750), which were allocated to purchase medicine for Health office of province, referring that the two convicts in association with defendants who their cases were sorted, to certify the fake purchase operations of medicines and take over full amounts that allocated to it, through their work in committees for examining and putting estimated price.

The court, after viewing the statement of legal representative in the Ministry of Health and administrative investigation, which recommended the omission of defendants and fining them amount of damage in public money, as well as their escape from justice. The evidences were found sufficient and convincing to criminalize them according to provisions of the article (316) p.c, in reference with participation articles (47 and 48) of code, based on that, the court sentenced them to seven years’ imprisonment.

The verdict-included issuing an arrest warrant against the convicts, conducting duly inspection against them and seizing their movable and immovable funds, in addition to that the damaged plaintiff (Salahaddin Health Office )has the right to ask for reimbursement before the civil courts after the verdict becomes final.
