COI Basra Directorate of Investigation announced it was able to seize materials for laboratory tests usage imported since 2013, yet they have not been used, resulting damage to public money, indicating that the process was carried out under a judicial warrant.

The Directorate pointed out that its staff moved to the construction center in Basra and was able to seize the materials used for the laboratory tests processed by a foreign company for Basra province worth more than one billion three hundred million dinars.

The initial investigations led to a deliberated negligence of not using of these substances since their importation in 2013. They were left in the open, exposed to sunlight and humidity throughout this period; this will lead to fade away.

The Directorate confirmed that a statement of fact was organized and that the documents of investigation were submitted to the competent investigating judge in order to take appropriate legal action.
