Seizing (1614) ton of chemicals prepared for smuggling in northern (Umm Qasr) port

CoI Investigation Directorate in Al-Basra revealed its ability to seize (1614) ton of chemicals were prepared for smuggling in northern (Umm Qasr) port without security approvals.

The above directorate clarified, while speaking about the details of the process that was implemented according to the judicial report that the staffs of directorate, which moved to the port was able ( after detecting) to (79) truck were loaded with (1614) ton of chemicals were prepared for smuggling according to the passport issued from port and seized all related documents of the consignment, included the faked import permit, indicating that the process of smuggling was done by collusion with a number of customs employees of northern (Umm Qasr) port, who have not reported an attempt to smuggled these dangerous materials that need security approvals.

The directorate confirmed that all seized martials, as well as the investigative documents registered in the duly seizure minutes that organized by the team, and submitted before the investigation judge, who decided to issue report of arrest warrant against employees who caused the waste of public money according to the provisions of article (340) PC, where the head of detection committee was arrested accompanied by on of the employee. The investigation judge was decided to arrest them under investigation.
