CoI investigation office in Karbala province, in cooperation with the National Intelligence Service and Karbala health department seized smuggled and counterfeit drugs in number of pharmacies and drugstores in the province.

The Office revealed that two of its teams, in addition to representatives of both the National Intelligence Service and health department in the governorate, carried out the seizure operation based on a judicial arrest warrant, indicating that 564 drug boxes containing (23) pharmaceutical material were seized.The sources of these drugs were detected and tracked through purchase lists and visiting the supplied drugstores.

It pointed out that the preliminary investigations confirmed that these seized materials in number of pharmacies and drugstores, were smuggled and counterfeited, confirming the organizing of a seizure minutes of all the controlled exhibits with the investigation documents and was presented to the competent investigating judge to take the appropriate legal actions.
