CoI Key achievements and indicators from January 1, 2010 To June 30, 2010

First: - in the investigation field.

  1. The CoI received (3901) allegations of corruption including (2008) anonymous and (1985) signed allegations.
  2. The CoI investigators started investigating (4004) claims and (3921) criminal allegations. The investigators were supervised by the investigation Judge and the investigators of High Judicial Council.
  3. The CoI referred its results of investigations of (1226) convicts, to the specialized courts, to be prosecuted for (982) cases of corruption. The total corruption was (322.404.631.055) Iraqi Dinars.
  4. According to the results of investigation by the CoI in (181) verdicts, (202) convicts were accused with corruption. One was convicted for life time imprisonment, (78) for more than five years, (18) for no less than three years to five years, (89) for less than three years and (16) were convicted to pay fines. The total number of convicts were (40) for embezzlement, (27) for intended sabotage with public money, (20) for sabotage the public money with serious fault, (7) for bribery and two convicts for disobeying orders.
  5. The CoI issued (2360) arresting warrants including (52) warrants against officials holding the position of director general and above and with one Minister, (588) arresting warrants were carried out during the aforementioned period.
  6. (764) convicts were detained out of corruption cases including five officials holding the position of director general and above.
  7. (1706) convicts were summoned out of corruption cases including (97) officials holding the position of director general and above including three Ministers.
  8. The total amount of corruption money to be recovered, for which a court decision was issued, was (29.050.931.095) Iraqi Dinars.
  9. The CoI investigators seized, according to corruption cases investigated by the CoI, (1.127.008.423) Iraqi Dinars, two cars, one truck and two ancient drawings beside ancient coins.
  10. The CoI executed (45) witnessed corruption crimes seizing operations carried out by the Special Operations Section for CoI and the investigation offices in the provinces.
  11. Following up the cases of the educational certificates forgers of the provincial councils` candidates. The total number of forgers was (890) candidates, and (284) arresting warrants were issued against them during this period. (102) forgers were submitted to the criminal courts, (31) convicts were convicted and (22) were released. The CoI is continuing to follow up cases against the rest of the forgers.
  12. The number of stayed criminal procedures for not obtaining the approval of their Minister according to Article (136/B) from Criminal Procedures Law were (95) convicts in allegations with (1.129.808.000) Iraqi Dinars.
  13. The number of convicts included by the Pardon was (278) in corruption cases reached (1.075.928.090) Iraqi Dinars.
  14. The number of the educational certificates forgers of the House of Representatives candidates was (128).
  15. The number of visits paid by the CoI anti-bribery campaign teams were (574) visits including (302) ministries and state-run directorates.
