CoI: restoring more than £2 million to the state treasury in the case of explosive detection devices

CoI declared, on Monday29/8/2016, succeed it efforts in following up the first accused in the case of explosive detection devices, British citizen Jim McCormick. CoI announced that the Iraq obtained a decision to Confiscating money of the convicted which amounts £ 7.9. CoI show that the Iraq will get the biggest share of the confiscated amount.

The aforementioned decision granted Iraq (2,300,000) two million, three hundred thousand pounds, 90% of the value of the amount.

Iraq was granted the biggest share of the confiscated amount because it had been the most affected victim according to the Jim McCormick`s confession. Jim sold to Iraq more than (6000), six thousand devices with amount up to 40 million pounds.

Compensation includes Georgia,Niger , Movenpick Hotel Group and provisional United Nations Force - Lebanon.

It indicated that the British court received the confiscated amount, £7. 9, from the culprit. The British court will send the shares to the all party have compensation decision via mechanical banking clearing.

Noteworthy to mention that the British convict, Jim McCormick, Sixty-year-old, was jailed in the UK early 2013. The convict went through complicated investigation for three years after he had been convicted of selling explosive and arms detection devices. The court pressed three fraud charges against the accused. The investigation showed that the devices, which were produced in many countries, did not pass through modern development and complicated program. The culprit used old devices used to detect American golf balls which is sold for $ 19.99, as an explosive and arms detection devices for a price of $ 40.000. The court found it difficult to distinguish between the two devices.
