CoI revealed Tuesday Apr 19, 2016 that its investigations and detections are ongoing on the information which Fairfax Media and Huffington Post published that refers to the involvement of state officials in corruption cases and bribes on oil contracts during the term of the former government. The investigative team complemented its investigation procedures and summoned some of the officials whose names came up in the report and their statements were recorded. The team is coordinating with Australia, France and UK, seeking the information they have in this regard, and is also communicating with some of the foreign journalists so as to obtain any additional information on the above mentioned matter. After inspecting the location of Leighton Offshore and Una Oil companies in Baghdad, the team found out that the said companies have no offices in Baghdad, contrary to the information of the Company Registration Office.

An initial report on the results will be prepared after the procedures take the legal effect.
