The NGO Office in CoI organizes conference and workshops concerning the work of NGO

The NGO office in CoI organized, cooperating with the Iraqi Board of Developing and Promoting Individuals, a conversational symposium under the slogan “the role of educational process in building the essential capacities for the Iraqi facilities”, and with the attendance of Miss Aisha AL-Masari (member of Baghdad Provincial Council), Dr.

Kareem AL-Wa`ali (Director General of Educational supervision), Heads and Representatives of NGOs and Medias. The editorial speech delivered by Mr.
Sajaad Ali Ma`atook (Head of NGO Office/CoI) in which he referred that the period after the change needs from us, as government facilities, NGOs and citizens, to work together to get out from this dilemma and bad consequences.
And even for the auditing authorities that were established because of the proliferated corruption, as a result of the policy by the last regime, which led to people lose confidence in their leadership. And this is one of the goals that the Joint Anti-Corruption Council launched for.
And he ensured that, the basic solution starts with educational treatment for values and behaviors, with the necessity of reviewing the plans and curriculums, whether in preparing teachers or in teaching methods, curriculums, preparing professional cadres with high integrity and qualification and providing the necessary support with activating the law enforcement facilities and implement it throughout educating, guiding and culturing. Mr. Haider AL-Hasnawi (Chairman of the Iraqi Board of Developing and Promoting Individuals) mentioned the highest educational responsibilities upon the teaching educational process for its effective role in building the character, and it is the factory for preparing the generations and the mother of the individuals in the society.
And concerning the society, it should participate in keeping and supporting the educational facilities; here the responsibility is upon everyone and not only upon the Ministry of Education. Mr. Tahseen Ali Mihsin (Head of the culture and education committee in the organization of the Iraqi Board of Developing and Promoting Individuals) presented a historical summary about the Iraqi schools; he pointed to the old and distinguished history in competing with international schools, and the big role for the Ministry of Education in delegating teachers to teach in different schools in the Arabic countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Morocco and Algeria till the 80`s.
This period witnessed the collapse of the educational process because of the irresponsible policies by the last regime. And he mentioned the limited teaching methods used recently in Iraq according to the survey by the American Organization (ryz) that concern with the Iraqi Educational Affairs. Dr. Abdul Hussain Kudhair Obeed delivered two lectures, concerning the Iraqi educational process (between reality and ambitious), that treated the reasons behind collapsing the educational process, which he summarized it in the policy of humiliating and deteriorating the values of teacher, spreading the private teaching and proliferated bribery.
Professor Jasim Jabaar Shareef considered, in his lectures, that the Ministry of Education is the most important productive Ministry for dealing with human minds and through it scientists and qualifications are being prepared.
It also supports different Ministries and facilities with human and scientific specialties and through it nations are being developed. At the conclusion of the symposium, the Head of the development and planning department in the NGO Office delivered the recommendations acknowledged by the attendance that ensured upon:-

•Paying more interests upon the educational process.
•Emphasis on the supervision role in following up the teacher`s performance and focusing upon the modern teaching methods. •The supervisors should avoid the investigation cases and refer them to the specialized authorities.
•Preparing courses to develop the administrative and educational cadres and activate the process of evaluating performance.
•Coordinating with anti-corruption facilities and monitoring performance.
•Working on spreading the culture of integrity and responsibility. And under the slogan “the effective role of woman in settling the values of integrity” and cooperating with Iktimaal Coalition to enhance integrity in Iraq, the NGO Office/CoI organized the first conference concerning the woman at the hall of AL-Najaf province health directorate.

 The attendances were the heads of the health committee and the integrity committee in the provincial council and some of the provincial council members.

The attendance praised in their speeches the role of woman in building the educational, social and ethical system throughout educating and preparing a conscious and educated generation as, the woman, being the basic element in the society. The deputy manager of the NGO Office mentioned the role of the CoI in promoting the culture of the ethical behavior in public and private sectors, and cooperating with the NGOs in publishing the values of transparency and integrity and promoting the culture of ethical behavior in the society.

The conference ensures the need for cooperating with the NGOs that care about child and woman affairs and activate the role of NGOs. Also the CoI, cooperating with the Iraqi Institute, organized three training workshops with the attendance of Mr. Kamil AL-Zaidi (head of Baghdad provincial council), Mr. Salah Abdul Razaak (Mayor of Baghdad), some provincial council members and some NGO`s.

These workshops contained a discussion of the public job ethics and explaining the code of conduct and procurement law, in which they reviewed the mechanism of contracting and explaining the Iraqi Public Employees Disciplinary Law (14) for 1991 and explaining the special articled provided in the Iraqi Penal Code (111) for 1969. A delegation from CoI had met with the Cardinal Emanuel Dli (the third), in his residence, to coordinate for holding the second conference concerning the role of religions to urge for keeping on the values of integrity, job ethics, protecting the public money and fighting and informing about corrupters.

 The Cardinal expressed his support to the CoI and his blessing for the efforts made by the CoI employees; also a meeting took place, with Mr. Azaad Hirmiz (Christian Endowment Inspector General) and Mr. Qasim AL-Mayaali (Head of Iktimaal Coalition), to support the CoI to deliberating about holding the conference.
