Committees preparing for the meeting has achieved its arrangements to organize Baghdad International Meeting, which will start next Wednesday under the slogan [assessment of anti-corruption strategy and asset recovery ... a comprehensive vision towards building a fair society]
COI Commissioner Ala,a Jwad Hameed, that organized the meeting said; delegations and experts will attend the meeting from Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Britain, France, Germany , the United States , United Nation Convention against Corruption, the Arabic Network for strengthening integrity and fighting corruption , ambassadors of other countries in Iraq, along with representatives and experts of the joint council for fighting corruption in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers ,Board of Supreme Audit, Supreme Judicial Council , Inspectors General and Integrity Committee in the Council of Representatives.
Numbers of guests displaying their countries experiences in the field of fighting corruption and their steps for spreading integrity as a preventive measure against this global plague. In addition to that the Iraqi side submitted a detailed paper about his experience in the field of fighting corruption since the collapse of the dictatorial regime in 2003 and the progress made by COI for bearing this responsibility and the steps adopted by Iraq to achieve its obligations towards United Nations Convention Against Corruption, which praised by experts from Malaysia and Jordan, the two countries mandated by the International Organization to review the extent of Iraq`s response to these responsibilities.
The commissioner stressed on the importance of the meeting which will be held in cooperation with United Nation Developing Program which was charged to fight the plague of corruption, that risk threatens the future of peoples with violent crimes ,thus the risk considered more than the dangerous of terrorist crimes.
COI Commissioner expressed the Iraqi looking forward to achieve the results of cooperation and interaction process during the meeting represented in field of bilateral and regional agreements, the efforts collaborated to handle the problem of corruption and rooting its effects.
