UN official praised Iraq efforts regarding the implementation of UNCAC. During attending the meeting between UN experts and the commissioner Judge Alaa Jwad Hameed with a number of CoI officials and DGs at Iraqi Anti Corruption Academy the official said" we noticed a remarkable progress in achieving the aimed goals and we are seeking for a genuine partnership with serious
Parties".
Mr. Jason an expert within UNODC said, "Iraq played a major and important role in implementing UNCAC and heading the countries in responding to the requirements in comparison with other signing countries".
The official mentioned that the Blueprint report provided by Iraq was ratified after a review made by a committee from Jordon and Malaysia, expecting receiving the results in a short time so that the next steps will be taken.
The UN official expressed his satisfaction with the Iraqi Anti Corruption Academy as an academic edifice, which can be a good example on the regional and international levels.
The commissioner Judge Alaa Jwad Hameed mentioned showed the preparation to organize CoI conference next February in Baghdad to highlight Iraq efforts in fighting corruption, spreading transparency and implementing the UNCAC.
He added that it is for Iraq`s benefit to hold this conference to highlight measures progress for Iraq in being a sponsor country in anti corruption efforts and to take his role in response to requirements of the UNCAC. The commissioner said we are looking for enhancing our experiences through our partners support and considering this meeting a good chance to arrange anti corruption methods.
The commissioner deputy judge Ezzat Tawfiq Jaafar emphasized the importance of strengthening the knowledge and abilities of evaluating anti corruption strategies and mentioned that we have the general scope but we are in need for specific details for enhancing the experiences and opening new cooperation channels.
UN female experts mentioned that in every meeting, she noticed a good progress in achieving the goals and this is a sign for the seriousness of the made efforts.
The attendance negotiated the methods of cooperation and the importance to proceed the remaining work of the joint committee and getting over difficulties.
