Two smugglers were arrested

CoI special operations unit arrested two smugglers used to bring hundreds of Arabs and foreigners into Iraq, as experts contracted with foreign investment working companies in Iraq. The Special operation unit investigations led to two government employees working in the Ministry of (……) and those two were helping the smugglers by organizing legal petitions to issue visas to Iraq.

The case details revealed that the arrested smugglers were working along with the two accomplices by submitting falsified letters and documents, under the names of foreign investment companies in Iraq, to request issuing visas from the competent authorities. The special operations unit, cooperating with MoI team, was working by a judicial order to ambush those suspects while giving the bribery to the two accomplices’ employees in the Ministry of (……). The unit recorded the whole process the arrested them in the act.

The primary investigations with the detainees, authenticated by the investigation judge, revealed that those suspects succeeded in smuggling (1967) Arabic and foreign persons into Iraq.

Meanwhile, the foreign companies denied any relation with this matter, falsifiers and the people who smuggled into Iraq. According to that, the specialized authorities are running deep investigations to reveal the involved parties and expose the reasons behind smuggling them. Anyone involved may be prosecuted according to terrorism Law in case if those people were smuggled into Iraq to execute terrorist acts or proven to have relations with terrorist groups.
