CoI appreciates media role in spreading the awareness against corruption

CoI appreciates the efforts of some Iraqi and international Medias and internet sites for its role in following and publishing special topics regarding corruption and spreading integrity and transparency culture and to highlight the big role of CoI and the international and local civil societies.
CoI spokesperson Mr. Hassan Kareem Aati stated that, these reports and articles dealt with administrative corruption in its critical and procedural sides and its effects upon rebuilding the State, depending on democratic basics, beside researches and studies specialized with these articles and following the conventions and seminars and what was published on the newspapers to bring out corruption phenomenon and its effect over daily life.
The spokesperson spot the light over Media nature for press entities, in the second half last year, from dispraise to the style of spreading integrity culture and reminding the society about ethical heritage and social values which neglects corruption in its phases. He praised the writers, intellectuals and professors who discussed in their essays the big role of the citizen in participating in fighting corruption.
He clarified that there are many web-sites and international organizations showed the international interests in fighting corruption.
He praised the role of CoI journalists and media men in writing news and reports, regarding corruption phenomenon, in newspapers and web-sites.
The spokesperson mentioned that the local newspapers dealt with many news and reports about corruption and how to fight it.
Concerning reports, Al-Mada newspaper came first with (522), Al-Sabah newspaper came second with (491), Al-Bayyina Al-jadeeda newspaper came third with (482), Al-sabaah Al-jadeed (452), Al-distoor (471), Al-aadalah (168), Al-mutamar (148), Al-bayyan (69), Al-zamaan (362), Al-mashriq (420), Baghdad (272), Al-eitihaad (130), Al-ta’akhi (174), Tareeq Al-sha’ab (164), Al-sharq Al-awsat (29), Al-a’alem (175), Al-naas (197) and Al-mustakbal (200).
Worth mentioning that, the number of recorded reports on the World Wide Web for 2011 is (2214) reports.
