CoI concludes 1535 cases through 2011

The Iraqi subject courts, except Kurdistan Region, concluded and delivered its decisions in (1535) cases including (1661) convicts, these cases were investigated by CoI offices in 2011.
CoI spokesperson Mr. Hassan Kareem A’ati said that, the subject courts in Iraq examined, in 2011, many cases concerning public money and delivered its decisions against convicts and forced them to return back the State money.
He clarified that, Al-karkh investigation office/Baghdad was at the top list concerning sentences with (256) decisions including (298) convicts then followed by Thi-Qar investigation office with (175) decisions against (203) convicts and Nineveh investigation court came third with (144) decisions against (151) convicts.
He pointed out that, Babel investigation office conducted (142) cases against (147) manipulators in public money crimes then followed by Al-risafa investigation office/Baghdad with (140) cases including (157) convicts, while Missan investigation office concluded (136) cases including (141) manipulator.
He added that, the court of Wasit investigation office delivered (106) decisions against (106) convicts then followed by Diyala investigation office with (83) cases against (83) embezzler, Kirkuk investigation office with (76) cases and Qadisya investigation office with (63) cases.
He mentioned that, Karbala and Saladin investigation offices studied (58) cases followed by Al-muthana investigation office with (41), Basra investigation office with (38) cases, Al-najaf investigation office with (15) cases against (15) convicts and finally Anbar investigation office with (4) cases against (4) convicts.
