Al-Maliki In His First Visit To CoI, "Fighting Corruption Is As Important As Curbing Terrorism"

Prime minister Al-Maliki renewed his interest in files of integrity and combating financial and administrative corruption. He stressed that terrorism and corruption are two faces of one coin.

We follow up and pay more attention to CoI work because the work in it is as dangerous as fighting corruption. He confirmed that terrorism and corruption support each other, destroy the country and society, and delay process of development and reconstruction. Al-Maliki indicated the importance of fighting corruption that contributed in spreading fear to companies that feel not safe investing in the country to avoid been blackmailed and sometimes by monitoring entities. Big and respectful companies do not offer briberies and in order not to be accountable.

Among the basic matters that hurdled process of construction is terrorism that prevents companies from coming to Iraq because they call it the country of fire." Al-Maliki addressed CoI personnel.

He stressed that thank you for fighting corruption that coincides with fighting terrorism and both support building the state. We would like to build our state on democratic, scientific and civilized bases and corruption and terrorism prevent us from achieving this goal.

Al-Maliky praised in his speech what he called the modern experience of CoI of building the new Iraq: saying" In this situation, frankly I praise the commission despite the modern experience in Iraq and I thank God that Iraq began to take his position in fighting corruption."

His Excellency pointed to the ability of the integrity to stop corruption acts and how to frighten corrupt because one of CoI reforming operations is to frighten corrupter and let him beware of stealing, although he falls into the trap of actions taken by regulatory bodies.

The prime minister is reminding of his positions in supporting CoI since he was the head of Defense and Security Committee in the Parliament : saying "I was really with CoI in every situation they passed by and I am optimistic with the scientific atmosphere you are working with through the transition to a scientific institution based on real basics and regulations.

If God willing, Iraq will be able to give and not to have only because he has the men and the women who are using their minds to participate like other nations do.

Prime Minister was received by the, acting commissioner Judge Ala`a Al- Saidi who provided to his Excellency a detailed explanation of the nature of the work of the Commission and the procedures therein.
