COI thwarted an attempt to destroy corruption files at one of the abolished I.Gs’ Offices and referred the involved persons to the court.
COI’s Investigation Office, during the course of discussing operation details, indicated that it received information through its sources about an attempt to destroy corruption files including documents, reports of investigation committees, formal correspondences, recommendations and letters by smuggling them through garbage containers and shredding them by hand or by shredders.
The Office mentioned that it seized the files and all related documents which attended to be smuggled through containers and preserved the destroyed ones, moreover it photographed and filmed the details of operation.
It indicated that it referred the involved persons to the court according to minutes to take legal actions against them.
COI announced at the middle of last November the details of its measures concerning the documents and files of the I.G’s Offices and the entity of which these documents are be referred to, indicating that the employees and the I.G shall be liable in case of any dissimilarity or not mentioning any files or related documents.
