Investigation Office revealed that their staffs in Baghdad Investigation Directorate were able to seize two defendants red-handed with fraud and bribery in Baghdad.
The above office explained the details of two operations, indicating that a team of Baghdad Investigation Directorate belongs to the commission, was detected a person claiming to be an employee in CoI who had defrauded a number of persons and deceived them that he can complete any tasks or issues related to CoI, clarifying that the team contacted with the accused by phone, in order to release one of detainees was randomly selected by data base.
Adding that the accused gave the above team the phone number of one of his employees who works for him, and requested a sum of money amounted of ($ 12,500), in order to release the detainee on bail, explaining that it was ambushed and seized the above employee red-handed according to the provisions of resolution (160) of 1983 while receiving the amount of ($ 1000) of agreed-upon, pointing out that the accused confessed during the investigation that she had agreed with an officer in one of security bodies to release on of detainees in return for ($ 10, 000).
The above office explained that it was contacted by phone with the officer, and set a date for a meeting with him, where it was seized red-handed after ambushing based on the testimony of accused, then confessed through registering his statements by agreement with accused to release the detainee in return for amount of money, indicating that the two operations were carried out in accordance with two arrest warrants, and the investigation judge who specialized in integrity cases decided to detain the two defendants according to the provisions of article (289) pc.
In last January, The Commission of Integrity announced that it was able to seize somebody to be impersonating an IG in Baghdad, and seized a woman swindling persons with false promises of employment.
