CoI’s Office of investigation announced that the Directorate of Investigation of Basra has seized the food contract of the affiliates of the governorate police, indicating that the annual contract amount reaches about (11) billion dinars.
The Office, referring to the details of the seizure operation, pointed out that a team of the Directorate of Investigation of Basra was able to seize the contract concluded without following the legal procedures of contracting, explaining that the contract was with one of the companies of trade and general contracting and transferring as well as supplying foodstuffs for ($10.950.000.000.00) ) dinars a year..
It added that a copy of the report of the Health Department of Basra, which proves that (22) police battalions’ affiliates were inflicted with poisoning by eating food processed by the company contracted with.
The Office explained that a minutes of seizure of assets was organized for the operation that was carried out under a judicial memorandum, and presented the investigative papers to the competent investigative judge to take appropriate legal action.
