COI Office of Investigation announced observing trespass case on the federal budget instructions in Babel and seizing stuff valued millions of dinars in the municipality warehouses.
COI Office of Investigation implemented seizure operation in Babel; based on information that governorate and municipality office purchased stuff by using budget allocated to cleaning materials unlike to instruction of federal budget from the local market and kind of junk, despite of there are some in warehouses of municipality since last year, Office said.
Inquiries made by COI Office of Investigation there indicated to delivering for huge amounts of waste containers and other materials supplied by a private company. Such materials were distributed to municipality institutions of the province unlike law, instructions, with absence of related documents of purchasing and without getting them registered; due to the absence of committees of receiving and inspecting to handle turn in and matching to technical specifications. Meanwhile, it was showed absence of any contract signed with the private company, the Office revealed.
After obtaining a decision from the court of investigation in Hilla stipulated to seize those material, COI Office of Investigation’s staff moved to the warehouses of the Directorate of Hilla Municipality and were able to seize (984) containers of trash cart, (952) suspended container, (12) lamp post and other materials of multi – million –dinars. The materials were seized; a minute was organized and submitted to the competent judicial authorities, Office noted.
